19 posts · Joined 2016. #5 · Dec 28, 2016. If the glow plugs had any fault what so ever the CEL would come on. The MAF sensor related DTC is most likely related to your aftermarket air filter system. Most times those systems contaminate the MAF element. With temperatures in the teens, I'd suspect fuel gelling.

I planned to replace my Motorcraft GPR with the Stancor model, but my 2000 model 7.3 has the flat metal shunt separating right and left bank glow plug connections. I tried using the Stancor with the shunt, but threw an SES code, "low power to right and left bank glow plugs".

Posted January 19, 2010. Glowplug light on 1.4TDCI only comes on when it is really cold, around freezing or lower, and only comes on for a few seconds so easy to miss. As for the fuse its probably in another fusebox somewhere. If the car starts alright then no need to worry! The glow plug system changed between 86 and 87. The 83 thru 86 had the old style glow plug system. The 87 thru 94 had the new style system.
