The bulb is not a bulb but a "luminous" light strip" and cannot be replaced. The entire shift bezel must be replaced at around $200-300 and requires removal of the entire floor console. Thankfully a Jeep Forum genius found that a $10, 6" led strip fits nicely into the spot where the bad part was removed. 2.5 hr's later you've got light again.
I went to go somewhere last night and none of my dash, gauge, heater control or shift lever illumination lights work. The door open switches work because the dome light still works, parking lights work, headlights work, and the potentiometer on the headlight control switch works the dome lights when in the full up position.
